Before joining Blue Owl, Derek was a Vice President at Anchorage Capital Group, LLC., a distressed credit-focused investment advisor based in New York City.

Derek began his career as a Loan Operations Analyst at JP Morgan Chase.

Derek received his BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance, from Susquehanna University.

James Lee is a Managing Director at Blue Owl and the Head of Institutional Business Development Asia. In his role, he focuses on capital raising and fund formation in Asia and overseeing all aspects of the Hong Kong office as the regional hub.

Before joining Blue Owl, James was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ascentium Group Limited which was acquired by Blue Owl to establish its physical presence in Hong Kong. Prior to that, James was a Managing Director and Head of Asia Marketing in the Private Fund Group (“PFG”) at Credit Suisse (Hong Kong) Limited. Prior to PFG, James was a Managing Director in Investor Relations & Business Development at the Blackstone Group Hong Kong Limited and was involved with marketing for various Blackstone fund products, primarily with respect to Korea. Preceding that, James was a Managing Director and Head of Asia Marketing at GSO Capital Partners (“GSO”), Blackstone’s alternative credit platform. Prior to GSO, James was a Managing Director and Head of the Structured Credit Product Group at Citigroup Global Markets Asia in Hong Kong where he was responsible for transaction origination, structuring and marketing. Before joining Citigroup, James was a Director in the Leveraged Finance Group/ Collateralized Debt Obligation Group at Credit Suisse First Boston Inc. ("CSFB"), Hong Kong. James joined CSFB when it acquired Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (“DLJ”) where he was Head of Asia Fixed Income Sales in Hong Kong and Co-Head of International Institutional Fixed Income Sales in New York. Prior to joining DLJ, James was a Vice President in International Institutional Fixed Income Sales at Lehman Brothers Inc in New York. James began his career as a Vice President in International Institutional Fixed Income Sales at Kidder, Peabody & Co in New York.

James received his BA in Economics and Japanese Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.

Jeremy Lee is a Principal at Blue Owl and member of the Private Wealth Team. In his role, he focuses on supporting the growth of the firm’s Credit platform acting as a conduit between the direct lending investment team and global private wealth distribution channel. Before joining Blue Owl, Jeremy was a Director at BlackRock. Jeremy began his career as a Product Strategist in the Global Credit – Leveraged Finance Business also at BlackRock.

Jeremy received his BS in Business Administration with a Concentration in Finance and Management, cum laude, from Ithaca College.

Michele Lee is a Managing Director at Blue Owl and member of the Finance, Accounting & Operations Team. Based in New York, she is focused on the day-to-day loan operations in the direct lending platform.

Before joining Blue Owl, Michele was a Director at Guggenheim Partners, a global investment and advisory firm. Prior to that, she was a Personal Banker at JPMorgan Chase. Michele began her career as a Financial Representative at AXA Equitable in the retirement planning services department.

Michele received a BS in Business Administration with a minor in International Studies from University of Connecticut.

Robert Lee is a Managing Director at Blue Owl and the Chief Technology Officer. Based in New York, he is focused on the firm’s overall technology strategy including digital transformation, cybersecurity, business analytics, and infrastructure.

Before joining Blue Owl, Robert was the Chief Technology Officer at Clayton Dubilier & Rice, a global private equity firm based in New York. Prior to that, he was the Chief Information Offer at the Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing and Merchant Banking Partners. Previously, Robert had various roles at Credit Suisse including the Chief Information Officer for DLJ Merchant Banking Partners.

Robert received an MBA from New York University and a BE in Electrical Engineering from Cooper Union.

Sonya Li is a Managing Director at Blue Owl and member of the Direct Lending Investment Team. In her role, she is focused on strategic transactions for Blue Owl as well as direct lending to middle market financial businesses.

Before joining Blue Owl, Sonya was a Principal at Angel Island Capital, a Golden Gate Capital portfolio company based in San Francisco. Prior to that, she was an Associate at Tennenbaum Capital. She began her career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Rothschild.

Sonya received a BS in Economics with concentrations in Finance and Management from the Wharton School and a BA in International Studies as part of the Huntsman Program at the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated with honors.

Eugene Lim is a Managing Director at Blue Owl and member of the Private Wealth Team. In his role, he focuses on supporting Blue Owl's Private Wealth business development in Asia.

Before joining Blue Owl, Eugene led the Private Markets team at UBS, covering all markets (Greater China, Japan, Southeast Asia, Europe, and Emerging Markets) managed out of the Singapore office. He began his wealth management career at J.P. Morgan.

Eugene majored in Finance at the National University of Singapore where he was awarded the Lee Kuan Yew Gold Medal for graduating top of his class. His undergraduate thesis, on alternating conditional expectations in the field of decision sciences, was published in the International Journal of Production Economics. Eugene is a CFA and CAIA charter holder.

Gary Lin is a Managing Director at Blue Owl and member of the Private Wealth Team. Gary serves as the Head of Global Portfolio Strategy and Solutions. In this role, he is responsible for the global growth and expansion of product and portfolio strategy across the full platform with Financial Advisors and High Net Worth Investors.

Before joining Blue Owl, Gary spent 10 years at Blackstone where he held numerous leadership roles in multiple regions and parts of the business. Most recently, Gary was a senior member of the real estate group based in New York covering opportunistic, core plus, and debt strategies with institutional relationships across the Americas Region. Additionally, he worked globally with the private wealth division to expand distribution of the flagship vehicle, Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust. Prior to his role in real estate, Gary served as the Head of Asia for Blackstone’s private wealth division based in Singapore where he built the business and led strategic initiatives across the region. Prior to that, Gary was the Head of Southeast Asia alternatives business at JP Morgan and worked at Morgan Stanley in New York where he built out data, analytics, and sales reporting functions for the Alternatives group. Gary began his career in private wealth and alternatives at Merrill Lynch where he was a financial professional within the wealth management division.

Gary holds a BA in Computer Science from Cornell University and an MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University

Lei Lin is a Principal at Blue Owl and member of the Tax Team. In her role, she focuses on tax compliance, reporting and operations for the products within the Credit platform.

Before joining Blue Owl, Lei was a Director at PwC, managing compliance and consulting engagements for asset management clients with various investment strategies ranging from direct lending, corporate and structured credit to private equity, long/short, real estate and other alternative strategies. During her tenure with PwC, Lei specialized in regulated investment companies such as BDCs, retail mutual funds, variable insurance products and ETFs, as well as, broader private equity, hedge funds and their management companies. 

Lei received a BS in Accounting and Finance from Boston College. Lei is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New York.

Patrick Linnemann is a Managing Director at Blue Owl and member of the Direct Lending Investment Team. Patrick is also a Portfolio Manager for certain funds in Blue Owl's Diversified Lending strategy, including the Blue Owl Diversified Lending Fund. In addition, Patrick is a member of the Investment Committee for the Diversified Lending strategy. In his role, he is responsible for the day-to-day management and strategic oversight of the credit selection and portfolio management process across the funds he covers.

Before joining Blue Owl, Patrick was a Vice President at Angel Island Capital, the credit investment platform of Golden Gate Capital, from 2015 to 2016, where he focused on sourcing and evaluating credit investments. Before that, Patrick was Vice President of the Leverage Finance Capital Markets Group at Goldman Sachs & Co. in New York from 2006 to 2015.

Patrick received a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
