John Valtwies is a Principal at Blue Owl and member of the Private Wealth Team. In his role, he oversees the business development and growth of the Blue Owl funds as well as client servicing, and operations for wealth management in Australia.
Before joining Blue Owl, John was a senior leader at PIMCO. He managed the firm’s private client relationships, focusing on private banks and ultra-high-net-worth advisory groups. John also led the family office business, successfully developing strong relationships with these unique, and sophisticated investors. He also developed growth strategies to expand the firm's semi-liquid alternative solutions for private clients and advisers. Prior to that, he was a senior research analyst at Morningstar.
With 23 years of investment experience, he holds a certificate in financial markets from FINSIA and received a Bachelor of Business (Economics & Finance) from Western Sydney University.
Pravin Vazirani is a Managing Director at Blue Owl and member of the Direct Lending Investment Team. In his role, he serves as the Co-Head of Portfolio Management for the Technology Investing strategy and is a member of the Technology Investing Investment Committee.
Prior to Blue Owl, Pravin was a Managing Director with Menlo Ventures. While at Menlo Ventures, Pravin focused on investments in the SaaS, cloud and ecommerce sectors. Pravin’s prior investments include Poshmark (IPO: POSH); Carbonite (IPO: CARB); Pillpack (acquired by Amazon), Centrality Communications (acquired by SiR F Holdings); EdgeCast Networks (acquired by Verizon); Credant Technologies (acquired by Dell); Like.com (acquired by Google); newScale (acquired by Cisco Systems); and UserZoom (exited position). Pravin's current investments include Toast, Remitly, SalesLoft, CircleCI, Exabeam, Nuvemshop, Arctic Wolf and 6sense. Pravin started his career as an engineer working at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Later, Pravin worked for Pacific Communication Sciences and ADC Telecommunications as a product manager.
Pravin holds BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from MIT and an MBA from the Harvard University Graduate School of Business.
Colin Vick is a Managing Director at Blue Owl and member of the Institutional Business Development Team. In his role, Colin focuses on North American institutions and consultants.
Before joining Blue Owl, Colin was a Director at GoldenTree Asset Management, a credit firm based in New York, where he worked with U.S. and Canadian institutions and family offices. Prior to that, he was an Associate at Blackstone in the Hedge Funds Solutions Group (BAAM).
Colin received his BS in Economics from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
Matt Villa is a Managing Director at Blue Owl and member of the Compliance Team. In his role, he focuses on the strategic and operational needs of the Compliance organization.
Before joining Blue Owl, Matt was Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer of PGIM Real Estate. Prior to that, Matt was senior vice president and chief compliance officer of a $2 billion value-oriented investment manager owned by Eaton Vance. Prior to that, he was a vice president of compliance for Prudential’s proprietary mutual fund complex. He worked at TD Waterhouse as a vice president and chief compliance officer for the firm’s advisory offerings and at Dreyfus in support of the organization’s cash management and institutional sales teams in the legal affairs department. Matt began his career in an audit function for a New York-based independent broker-dealer.
Matt received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business and a Master of Business Administration from Monmouth University’s Leon Hess School of Business. He has held a variety of industry licenses.
Ben Volok is a Principal at Blue Owl and member of the Private Wealth Team. In his role he is focused on the capital raise initiatives & distribution of Blue Owl’s suite of funds, with primary concentration on Wirehouse platforms.
Before joining Blue Owl in 2016, Ben was a Vice President at Guggenheim & CION Securities. Prior to that, he began his career in Private Wealth working with Mutual Funds, 401-K’s & Annuities with The Hartford.
Ben received his BSBA with a focus in Finance, magna cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh.
Jeff Walwyn is a Managing Director at Blue Owl and the Chief Investment Officer, Insurance. In his role as Co-Head of Underwriting, he oversees the day-to-day underwriting of diversified investments.
Before joining Blue Owl in 2017, Jeff was a Managing Director at Guggenheim Partners where he focused on evaluating credit investments. Prior to that, Jeff was a Principal at Apollo Global Management in the Credit Group in New York. Prior to those roles, he held positions in credit underwriting at Gulf Stream Asset Management and in Investment Banking at JPMorgan.
Jeff received a BA in Applied Economics and Management, summa cum laude, from Cornell University and an MBA with honors from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
Amy Wang is a Principal at Blue Owl and member of the Tax Team. In her role, she is primarily focused on tax accounting, financial statement reporting, and tax compliance.
Before joining Blue Owl, Amy was a Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the Banking and Capital Markets group where she specialized in tax accounting and reporting and partnership compliance.
Amy received a BS and MS in Accounting from New York University and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in New York.
Mark Wetzel is a Managing Director at Blue Owl and member of the Strategic Equity Investment Team. In his role, Mark leads the investment process, execution, and portfolio management of the Strategic Equity Team’s investments.
Prior to joining Blue Owl, Mark was a Managing Director at Goldman, Sachs & Co. where he was a multi-industry investor within the private equity businesses of the Merchant Banking and Asset Management Divisions. Mark began his career at Goldman Sachs in the Investment Banking Division.
Mark earned a BS in Management from Boston College and an MBA from the Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar.
Greg White is a Managing Director at Blue Owl and member of the Real Estate Investment Team. In his role, he focuses on investments, loan origination, structuring securitizations, and the development and maintenance of client relationships.
Before joining Blue Owl, Gregory was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Prima Capital Advisors, an investment advisory firm which specialized in making real estate debt investments. Among his other roles at Prima, he acquired and expanded the investment management agreements held by previous entities. He previously was Managing Director at Salomon Brothers Inc and co-head of the firm's real estate finance, sales, and advisory businesses, where he originated, negotiated, and closed in excess of $10 billion of real estate financings, joint ventures and property sales. Prior to his work at Salomon, Mr. White was an Assistant Treasurer in the Real Estate Finance Department of the Chase Manhattan Bank.
Mr. White received his BS in Civil Engineering from Tufts University and earned a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Real Estate from The Wharton Graduate School of Business Administration. He is also Director of TPG Real Estate Finance Trust, a NYSE listed company that focuses on transitional commercial mortgage loans. As well as a member of PREA (Pension Real Estate Association) and CREFC (Commercial Real Estate Finance Counsel). Mr. White is a past member of the Board of Advisors for the School of Engineering at Tufts University.
David Willemin is a Principal at Blue Owl and member of the Finance, Accounting & Operations Team. Based in Short Hills, NJ, he is focused on the accounting, finance, financial reporting, and internal controls functions for the Blue Owl BDCs.
Before joining Blue Owl, David was a Senior Vice President of Internal Audit Finance at Citibank. Prior to that, he was an Accounting Associate at Fir Tree Partners. David began his career as a Senior Assurance Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Alternatives group.
David received a BS in Finance and Accountancy, magna cum laude, from Villanova University.
